Veteran-Friendly Practice
ποΈ Weβve Applied to Become a Veteran Friendly Accredited Practice! ποΈ
Weβre pleased to share that our practice has applied to join the Veteran Friendly Accreditation Scheme, supported by the Royal College of General Practitioners, the Royal British Legion, and Combat Stress.
This initiative helps ensure GP practices deliver the best possible care and understanding to veterans and their families. Many veterans are sometimes hesitant to seek help because they worry their experiences wonβt be understood β this scheme helps change that.
By working towards accreditation, weβre showing our commitment to recognising that veterans have distinct health needs and to improving access to specialist support and services designed for them. π¬π§
π₯ Who counts as a veteran?
Anyone who has served at least one day in the UK Armed Forces β Regular or Reserve β including the British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Royal Marines, or Merchant Navy. Families and carers of veterans are also supported.
π¬ What this means for you:
If youβre a veteran, family member, or carer, please let us know when you register or at your next appointment. This helps your GP better understand your health and connect you with veteran-specific NHS services if needed.
π©Ί Our goal:
We want every veteran and their loved ones to feel understood, supported, and valued within our practice. All information you share is completely confidential, and any referrals are always made with your agreement.
Thank you to all who have served β weβre proud to take this step toward serving you better. π
